Durham-Based Nonprofit Receives $25,000 Donation From the Price Fund
We are so proud to let you know that three of our Kidznotes musicians have been selected to perform as part of the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) National Festival in Los Angeles this July!
The YOLA National Festival is an intensive orchestral training program, open to students aged 12-18 from El Sistema-inspired programs across the country. Kidznotes musicians Marcus Gee and Kiarra Truitt-Martin, selected for the National Festival Symphony Orchestra, and Felicia Adizue, selected for the Chamber orchestra, will travel to Southern California for the two-week experience learning and performing with world-renowned conductors and artist mentors.
I hope you will watch the WRAL Morning Original clip that features our two National Festival Symphony Orchestra members. The story highlights the work that our Kidznotes community has done to bring free classical music training and character development to youth.
As Marcus explains, studying cello at Kidznotes hasn’t just helped him become a musician.
You have to work hard if you want to achieve something.”
And that is a lesson that is at the heart of the common values we share with every young musician here at Kidznotes!
