Yolana Murrell

Yolana Murrell is a graduate of UNC, has taught both traditional and Suzuki violin and viola in Chapel Hill, NC since 1993. In addition to her Durham and Chapel studios she coaches chamber groups and strings in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools and is a coach for the Triangle Music Academy.

She has played with the Durham Symphony, the Chapel Hill Philharmonia and the Pittsboro Bach Society.

She is also an active chamber musician. Her teachers have included Mary Frances Boyce, Edith Gettes, and Eric Pritchard.

Her goal as a teacher is to get students to produce the best sound possible with as healthy a technique as possible.
